In July 2024, Marie Curie Hospice Newcastle piloted the use of a remote second on-call service provided by Supportive Care UK. They evaluated the first 6 months and have submitted a poster for the up-coming Hospice UK Conference in November which concluded that the service 'offered good value for money for the Newcastle hospice'.

Supportive Care UK was established in 2014 providing an innovative remote solution to Specialist Palliative Consultant Support.  To date we have partnered with 60 Hospices and over 100 organisations including NHS trusts. We're helping to bridge the gaps in Specialist Palliative Consultant Care and improving outcomes for patients. We offer a broad range of services but some of the reasons you may need us include:
