Supporting Patients, Families and Healthcare Teams

A busy period delivering specialist clinical support

Our busiest quarter has seen hundreds of clinical interactions, new partnerships and expanded services, delivering expert support to clinicians and better care for patients.

We were delighted to welcome several new partners during this period, including Ardgowan Hospice, with a new full 24-hour telephone support arrangement. St Luke’s, Harrow, Mid and Central Cheshire NHS Trust and North West London ICB also joined us for full out-of-hours provision.

Our existing partnerships continued to grow, with Nightingale House Hospice and Eden Valley Hospice expanding their support to include specialist palliative pharmacy services.

Alongside these developments, we welcomed three new consultants and a new pharmacist to the SCUK community and were pleased to receive positive early feedback from partners.

August was a particularly busy month for our clinical teams. Together, they handled 169 out-of-hours calls, delivered 168 board rounds and MDTs across 26 partner sites, provided 19 clinical supervision sessions and completed 20 palliative pharmacy sessions.

These figures matter because each one represents a conversation, a supported colleague and, ultimately, better-informed care for a patient and their family.
